Cracks in drainage pipes
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.13 PM
My mother has a drain running from her bathroom to the main drain that is joined by a drain from her kitchen. A camera was sent down after a blockage was cleared in a manhole cover and shows cracks in the piece that joins the two drains but otherwise it seems structurally sound. The cracks have not affected the shape of the drains and appear very thin without any noticeable holes. Are cracks in a clay drain anything to worry about? The house was built in the 60s

Hi Gary. Why did you have a camera inspection? As for cracks, that would depend on how large. Unfortunately you just do not give a more elaborate description. Bob.

Cracks In any pipe work shouldn’t be left, especially foul water! It’ll only get worse and a good drainage company may be able to fit an internal sleeve to fit the issue
