Electrical

Electrician Disappears halfway through job

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.13 PM

We are in the middle of having our kitchen done (taken a while due to lockdown). We have used a friend of a friend to fit the electrics (hes is a qualified electrician). We paid him an initial amount to cover materials, he has done a few days work (Fitted new circuit, added some sockets, lights) but now I am unable to get in contact with him via phone and via email? What should my next steps be? Would I be able to get another electrician to pick up where he left off?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Tricky one. You say he is qualified, but is he registered? ie with NICEIC, Napit etc if he is then you could get hold of his part p provider to get in touch with him. If he isn’t then I really don’t see how you can avoid going with someone else, it’s his loss if you can’t get in contact with him, but if you do make sure they are registered.
