New sockets taken off of washing machine spur

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.13 PM

We're having an extension built and the first fix electrics have just been done. They've taken the sockets off of the kitchen washing machine socket which is of course separately isolated. Is this ok?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Nope. Well technically it’s ok but every socket after the washing machine switched spur will be on one 13a fuse

Personally I would attempt to come off the ring circuit which in this case maybe the isolator for the washing machine socket. That way you can have more demand on the extension sockets.

There are few issues that should be addressed before. * what type of circuit is in kitchen (normally it is Ring therefore you can’t have spure After spure) * if it is Redial Circuit and the washing machine is installed in the and of circuit yes you can , but you should know the maximum demand and voltage drop.
