I haven,t a clue. I have installed numerous RSJs and i have ALWAYS followed the structeral engineers figures (requirements). I suggest anyone carrying out this type of work does the same. No guessing. Regards. michael.

you will need steel calculations and a structural engineer for this and then building control to inspect and pass the installation. Stay clear of anybody who says they can do it without these, not only for peice of mind but also house and building insurances may be void for incorrect installation etc, hope this helps.
