Fitting outside double socket extension.

Wanting to fit double socket in gazebo 15M from existing outside double socket off conservatory ring main. I have converted the above to RCD socket and have purchased 2.5mm armoured cable. Understand how to fit glands to new double socket end but how can I fit other-end of cable to 13amp plug ensuring metal sleeve is also earthed. Or have I gone overboard with using armoured cable? Intend to bury it under gravel path.

You don’t terminate it into a 13 amp plug top. It has to be either back to the consumer unit or into one of the final power circuits in your house.

As long as the conservatory ring main is rcd protected, you can drill out through the back of a conservatory socket, and enter into the bottom of a wiska box on the outside(use a stuffing gland) using the other bottom entry you of the box you can terminate the armoured cable, ensuring 1 side of the swa is earthed.

As you found out you can not fit 13amp plug in to the armoured cable. You should add 13 amp RCD Fused spur (weatherproof) next to your existing weatherproof socket at conservatory (If this circuit is not RCD protecting, if yes just a 13 amp fused spur will do Connect your 2.5 mm armoured cable and at Gazebo fit a weatherproof 13amp socket (assuming you have somewhere to fix the socket at Gazebo).

Could you not terminate the SWA into an adaptable box situated next to existing socket Terminate SWA Into box with Gland/banjo or piranha locking nut then earth the armouring through to cpc of ring main
