Inside leak coming from bi-folding doors
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.32 PM
Our dining room is part of an attic conversion with bi-folding doors opening on to a flat roof terrace. We think that because the roof terrace is the same level and no gap between the bi-folding doors that when it rains heavily, water comes in to the runners of the door. This is causing water to come through the ceiling and down the walls of the bedroom below. Please let me know what we can we do to fix this problem?

Agree with mark, Pics needed it might be as simple as strategically placed drip edge somewhere to deflect rain but most likely a channel and an outlet somewhere on the balcony. Important to know What the balcony is made from and what options there are for alteration is it wood/asphalt/concrete etc.

Hello,
Difficult to give an accurate assessment without seeing some pictures etc, usually you would have a tray below the window which would stop any water tracking underneath but again it’s hard to envisage the problem without pictures.
