Maximum distance from water source for plumbed American fridge/freezer
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.31 PM
Looking to install a plumbed in American fridge freezer to the kitchen and we thought it wouldn't be a problem to run the thin pipe under the cabinets from the sink to the fridge on the other side of the room, this is around 6.5 meters in distance. It only comes with 5 meters of piping (according to Samsung) but I thought that it wouldn't be a problem to just buy more from somewhere like Amazon. After chatting with AO (who I was hoping would do the install as part of delivery) they said they can only use what the manufacturer ships it with which is obviously too short. Samsung "recommend" a maximum distance of 3 - 5 meters but the lady on live chat said you can go over that without problem but need your own piping. Am I really pushing it by going to 6.5 meters here? As I understand it I could add new 15mm piping off the mains to get the supplied tube closer to the fridge but I was hoping since we have decent water pressure the 1.5meter difference would be negligible.
