Armoured cable to power

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.31 PM

Hi All. Can you help. Armoured cable into glanded junction box to driveway light on wall. Cable runs underground comes into house under stairs. How would this cable be connected to power with switch so I could use some sort of timer. Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

That would depend on how currently powered- simple way is use some thing like a an immersion heater time switch (time guard do ones ) or a timed switched fuse spur- or if you wish something app based there are plenty of lighting contactors that will work with apps and can also have timer set within the app - then put power supply to power inside of of switch and armoured cable to load side and set timer - or better still get a suitably qualified person to do the installation for you , they will also check cabling meets current standards for RCD protection etc and will make sure you get the right product and set it for you

If you’re not a qualified electrician. Don’t attempt it. And for those providing answers to questions such as this well done for losing trade.
