Hi This can be rectified by applying carpet spray adhesive over the bitumen adhesive that will then bind and dry within seconds. Then the gripper should be cut into sections no longer than 30cm lengths. A bead of solvent free gripfill can then be applied in a continuous bead along the skirting edge and then the gripper set into it. The carpet can then be installed the following day after the adhesive has set to full strength.

I'd personally use a 50/50 pva wash and solvent based grip fill. Solvent free tends to go off quicker and doesn't have the necessary grab for such a job. Especially where traffic is. The gripper will come loose
