How to stick 6mm insulation boards to screeded floor
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.31 PM
Hello there, I need to stick 6mm xps insulation boards to a concrete floor as part of my underfloor heating project. A quick Google search took me to a page that advised to use flexible tile adhesive. Is this the best way to do it? Also I'm planning to use a 5mm notched trowel as I don't want the floor to be too heigh. Will it work? Also I'll be pouring self leveling compound over the insulation boards. Can this compound run to the walls or should I use a spacer for allowing expansion? Any inputs is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, yes stick it down with flexible tile adhesive best to use at least S1 flexibility I use ultra proflex, 5 mm trowel is fine, you can screed up to the edges.
