Grill made sudden loud noise, small and now cooker doesn't work.
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.52 PM
I turned the grill on which I haven't used for a few months, it has always worked well, the suddenly I heard strange banging noise, burning smell and now none of the cooker works or even turns on. It is an oldish cooker. What should I do? Thank you in advance.

I agree with SFS. It sounds like something has gotten too hot, too quick. It sounds like ideally, an electrician needs to check the circuit and replace the cooker for you.

It sounds like you have a major problem. You could get someone in to look at it but it may be better to save the money and put it towards a new cooker. You would probably be charged at least £50 for an engineer to call plus if it is the element another £50 plus labour to get one and install.
