I have a tumble dryer which needs a hose putting through the wall to ventilate it. Is it a builder I need or a kitchen fitter? Or some other trades person?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Matthew, varying trades can core through a wall as we need to do this for all kinds of pipes and ductwork. Before you ask someone to core the wall, consider the age of the dryer. Most these days are condensing and don’t require an external vent. So if it’s replaced soon you won’t need the hole in the wall any more. If you do decide to go ahead with it, consider the location and the access required externally to fit a grill.

Look for local core cutting specialists usually around £80-100 but they do it dustless and with wet cutting tools makes it quicker and neater , you can hire one cheaper but can be a bit off a nightmare as the core can jam leaving sore wrists
