32 amp outlet to connect 13 amp single oven

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.52 PM

Currently the oven switch is connected to 32 AMP wire and socket. New oven comes with 13 amp plug. At present, on the wall it has plate that provides 32 amp to the cooker. Can you please guide what type of outlet plate with switch required to connect to new oven?

Simply needs the current faceplate changing over to a single socket. The fuse in the plug will provide the appliance with protection against over current as it won’t be able to draw more current than the fuse in the plug permits.... typically 13A

If you have a cooker OUTLET it can be swapped for a single socket. I would recommend that this should be done by a qualified electrician but it is a simple job.
