Get rid of water hammer

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.51 PM

When cistern fills after flush there is a bang which reverberates thru the pipework - it also happens (sometimes) if I turn off a cold tap quickly

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Faulty fill valve. Either replace the washer or whole unit. The bank your experiencing is called water hammer. It occurs when there is a faulty valve somewhere, along with poorly clipped pipework.
