What type of roof should I install for sedum trays. Fibreglass or EPDM. Will nit need to be surveyed as it’s a bbq area roof but obviously don’t want it to leave, get damaged etc. Thanks in advance

EDPM is cheaper then fibreglass but fibreglass is a superior system all round.
If the EDPM rubber sheet has no cuts or joins then it is superior but the minute you have to cut it to get round a corner/roof window or join two peace’s together it’s not fit for purposes.
Solely on the reason the manufacturers won’t guarantee the glues used to seal the joints.
It just seems a massive scam guarantee that got a lot of people fooled, from a business point of view this doesn’t fill me with confidence especially when selling it to clients.
The guarantee on fibreglass systems especially GRP CURE IT brand is more solid as they guarantee the entire system.
Just food for thought, hope this helps.

GRP is not a superior product. EPDM is proven to last 55+ years. GRP only 40. It is all about the installer. GRP is over used by unskilled roofers. I take up 3/4 GRP roofs a week and relay in EPDM. If you install it right it will be of use on a green roof. Pick to right installer and they are both usefull just more life out of EPDM. If usings GRP use 600gsm.

The previous comment regards guarantees on EPDM roofs for Sedum Roofs I do not agree with. Leading manufacturer of Carlisle Industries supply sound material guarantees if installed by accredited installers. Having laid thousands of m2 of 'Resitrix' EPDM membranes (on both domestic & commercial buildings across the UK, it is a superb material to use due to its material composition & ability to move with different weather conditions.; Unlike Fibreglass which is great for boats! With all roof systems it depends on the installers as to whether the system is good or bad.
