Insulating a loft with a combi-boiler installed
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.34 PM
Hi all, We're currently insulating the loft (celotex) and boarding the floor, ready to make it habitable. However, our combi-boiler is up there too. It vents through the roof membrane via a tile stack/pipe. My question, how do we insulate this area without compromising the boiler? I thought the safest route would be to create a floor to ceiling 'cupboard' for the boiler which is insulated internally, not touching the boiler itself. The door to that cupboard would have a rubber seal. Or do we simply insulate around the pipe out of the roof, so the boiler is part of the room? Thank you!
