Can my neighbour erect a fence which will restrict my use of my drivieway?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.34 PM

My neighbour is planning on erecting a fence on his driveway which runs alongside my driveway. This will restrict myself getting in and out of my vehicle due to not being able to fully open my car door. Any advice please?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello He can erect a fence as long he is in the boundaries between the properties. Speak too your neighbour and explain in a nice way that you will have a problem getting in and out of your car if the fence is erected hopefully you can agree on the matter. Your don't want too fell out with your neighbour in any way. Trevor

If it’s on his land and not higher than planning allows then he is entitled to erect the fence without question....

Yes pretty much as long as it's on his land.older houses with driveways were built to suit cars back then when they were alot smaller. check your deeds tho to see if they mention anything about no fencing on driveway.
