Steel support used not as plans submitted to building control

Hi after some advice please. Had extension built some 6 years ago and my husband who dealt with the builder has since died and am thinking about selling the property. I remember before his death he was in contact with building control about final certificate. I have now spoken to them and they have said there is an outstanding issue concerning drawings of the steel support used and the drawings for the steel support which they are saying is bigger than the submitted drawings. I have no idea of where to find the original builder and no idea how to go about getting a drawing calculations of the bigger steel beam used in the extension. I do have the artechtural drawings originally submitted. Can anyone please advise me on how to remedy this issue.
