Bow in middle of upright wall.
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
New extension in progress. Exterior wall, has bow in middle. Obvious to the eye, also spirit level. Can this be fixed or does wall have to come down and be rebuilt? Inspector passed foundations.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi without looking and just going by what you said , it can be fixed by punching holes above affected area a row props and strong boys needed to support above brick work , then simple take out bulge and install new brickwork regards david

It entirely depends on how many courses of brick this bow is consistent. A few courses of brick high then it can be fixed. I would also be checking your cavity to ensure the correct amount of wall ties have been installed and that none are missing. If the bow is more than a few courses high then I would personally take it down .

Get builder to take it down and rebuild properly!
Obviously not built two plumb corners or has built to high in one go!
Basically bricklayer at fault hence his responsibility to take down and rebuild at his cost!
Don’t start trying fix problem cos will stand out like sore thumb!
