I want to update my gas fireplace - what is the first thing I need to do?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
I moved into a property 2 years ago. It has a gas fire which I used for a short period of time. I have not had it serviced. I don't know when it was installed. I would like to replace it but as I don't know it's history I don't know what to do first and which tradesmen to call upon. I assume I need to consult someone (but who?) to check what fireplace would be suitable, have my chimney surveyed/cleaned (by who?), buy a fireplace and ask a registered engineer to fit it. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

your 1st step is to look at design of where you want to be be with the project. once you have an idea get in touch with a local fireplace specialist who will pop out and offer a survey to see where and what you can have. most reputable fireplace guys offer a free no obligation 1st site visit
