Is chasing into a single brick support wall to conceal hot and cold water pipes ok?

I am getting differing views about this subject. Some advise not to, others say that it is perfectly safe to do so providing the chasing is done professionally. Also is it legal i.e. does it contravene any regulations?

pipes can be chased into a wall no problem, however they do have to be covered over with some kind of protection from plaster, mortar. cover all of the pipe with gaffa like tape or same equivalent and you will not have a problem. just remember where they are in the wall when drilling for shelves, picture frames cupboards etc.Regards Antony

Hi, cant see a problem if you are only going to chase 15mm pipes and you cover them with some sort of protection, such as you would if covering cables, then you can plaster it in, good luck colin.
