Drainage for a a sloping garden with a raised patio
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.12 PM
How can i create suitable drainage system for a sloping garden with a raised patio? I started installing sandstone paving on a 32m2 patio area after moving into a new build. The developers-as they do- decided it was a good idea to use a clay composite to fill out the garden space. unfortunately for me, this means that the area is retaining water and will damage my sandstone paving if proper drainage is not constructed. How best can i go about competing this job?

Soakway drainage lower than the clay they have used.

Yes you wound have to dig a soak away down deeper than the clay that was put in previously and do a good connection. You could also connect to an existing pipe eg coming from a down pipe, r into a manhole if there is one there etc

To whom this can help. There are a few different ways to get rid of extreme surface water in your garden The first way is to install French drain leading into a soak away dug to the right depth Which will be suitable for your garden and alternative way depending on your garden I would consider installing a pump and sump system and connect into the mains thank you I hope this helps
