Ask a questionKitchen Fitting
Kitchen fitter or joiner
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.12 PM
Planning new kitchen worktops, floor retile, splashback retile and painting of kitchen. No other changes. Would a kitchen fitter be the best person for this? And would I buy all of the materials ie tiles, worktops, or would they supply those? Thank you!
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I can fit the worktop accordingly to the plan which has been requested by the customer. I can do the flooring if it's solid wood or laminate. Splashback should be done by the tiler. Painting should be done by painter.

Hi there. It really depends on the company that you're dealing with some guys work on a labour only basis and some work on an all encompassing basis. We install the kitchen, do laminate flooring or tiling if the customer wants us to. You really just need to specify all these details up front in a written agreement if possible.

You could use a good multi trader who should be able to do all the jobs you could buy work tops and tiles but take advice from contractor for how much worktop and tiles you want but for adhesive/grout etc let multi trader get that as we are fussy on what we use there is a lot of cheap stuff out there however if you are unable to find a good multi trader use a trade for each job kitchen tiling and painting

Multiple trades are whats needed, I personally wouldn't use a tiler to fit work tops and no decent kitchen fitter/joiner is going to want to paint a kitchen. Yeah you could use a multi trader but you pay for what you get.
