Is it ok to put plasterboard either side of trunking and plaster over?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.12 PM
I would like to renovate a cracked/uneven wall with electrical trunking running horizontally along the middle of the current wall. I was thinking of securing plasterboard either side and plastering to finish... Is that a recommended practice or should I hide the cabling some other way? Thanks

Hi Andrew,
The best recommendation is to box in the trunking using timber frame any size and dress it with plasterboard. It's also good to be fire resistant 12.5mm plasterboard.
Thank you

Hi I would recommend you remove the trunking sheen the cables and plaster board straight over them

I’d personally strip of trunking to expose cables / cable / cover with metal wire capping then board over .
