Honeywell Smartfit showing F2 fault

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.12 PM

I have a Vaillant system boiler controlled by a Honeywell Smartfit. Yesterday I had no hot water and went to investigate. Controller was displaying a fault code F2, I have checked the cables, they're all attached correctly. I think it may be either a fault with the actuator or the 3 way valve. Is there an easy way to find out which of the components is faulty before I purchase replacement part or parts. Thanks Thanks for your answers I am very grateful. Weirdly the unit displayed the fault for over a week and then I noticed the clock was back on. I slid the controls to constant and the boiler fired up, it's been working on timed hot water ever since. Can't explain it.

If the F2 fault is showing on the Honeywell Unit then from the instructions it look slike its a fault with one of the two port or three port valves. Your best to call out a Gas Safe Registered heating engineer.

F2 - 1.means reset your boiler as a homeowner 2.check you have not turned off the gas or a member of the family. 3. Seek a qualified heating engineer that can legally open up the boiler to diagnose.
