Bathroom Fitting

Wall tile cracked and grouting on floor falling out between tiles

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.12 PM

Hi Can someone advise me please ? We had three bathrooms fitted by a company their work is guaranteed for two years . One year in one of the wall tiles has cracked and grouting around the sink area on the floor in two of the bathrooms is crumbling . Am I right to call the company back and should I get a free repair ? Many thanks for any help given , I hate complaining so thought I would check first .

100% you should be calling them back. If they have said a 2 year guarantee and you have tiles falling off the wall and grout coming away. The company would not need reputation damage like you could cause.

I agree with the previous answer, if you have a written guarantee then they should honour it. If they don't as has been previously stated the damage you could do to their reputation via poor feedback on this site or other review sites would not be good for their business. If they are a reputable firm you should have no issues.

It depends in a new house you will always get settlement cracks which could cause the grout to fall out. If it is a wooden floor below the tiles they could crack if the floor has excess movement due to poor quality flooring or lack of support. Both would be outside the tilers control. But they promised you a warranty then I would follow up on this and see what they say.
