Gripper rod distance

Hi ,what distance from skirting should they be for ten mm carpet eight mm pile please thanks

Should be between 5–6mm away from the skirting boards and around the door frame

I would put the gripper between 4mm-6mm away from the skirting

I always allow between 4 and 5 mm as a gap between the skirting and the gripper rods.

Gripper should be fixed the same distance from skirting as the thickness off the carpet being fitted. Too tight and there will be no room to tuck carpet down the gap. Too large a gap and the carpet wont hold tight on the gripper.

Get a bit of gripper and bang the pins flat then use the thickness as a spacer
