Emulsion over dulux oil based undercoat

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.31 PM

I didn't read the tin properly and just applied oil based dulux undercoat for wood/metal on a bedroom wall. It was a mix of dark colours and lots of stains/marks etc so I thought an undercoat would help. We want to emulsion it. What do I do? Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

That will be ok inside tradesman often put a bit of undercoat over stains if they have no stain blocker . Apply your emulsion on top now it’s dry it will be fine

Sand the wall, give the wall 2 coats with acrylic Matt or a diamond matt

Let's use cover stain paint with 2 coats. Make a mix with white spirit 30/70 %. It is still oilbased but you can paint with emulsion after the drying time.
