Leak?? or .... cold pipes?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

Hi All. Just brought a house, I have a downstairs bathroom (https://ibb.co/P4chT9V (bathroom) with a line of mould, i think its likely to be a cold pipe leaning against the wall, however moving a cabinet in the upstairs bedroom i have notice a line a mould directly above the bathroom. https://ibb.co/8PVfZ5p (bedroom). Would the cold/hot mould in the bathroom effect upstairs? or do you think its a leak coming from upstairs bedroom to the bathroom? Thanks! Alex

Hi, it's possible, but highly unlikely that's from condensation of cold pipes within the wall. It's probably a small leak from upstairs or attic possibly the roof. Maybe it's an old leak? Check for a leak, or buy a moisture detector for under 30quid then return it after. Wash the mould with mould remover and do 1 coat of stain block paint.
