Guttering/Fascias/Soffits
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM
I am looking to have fascias, soffits and guttering replaced soon, can the guttering be removed and replaced again if I want my roof replaced in a number of years time. Also can the fascias/soffits survive a new roof.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Not replacing the guttering when replacing the fascias and soffits is a false economy. The brackets become brittle and the rubbers will leak. Just renew and replace at the same time .simple. If you replace the the fascias and soffits then yes the new roof will go together but best to do it altogether as 1 job. Do it once do it right as they say in the business.

Yes of corse it can make as long as you take your time taking it off and keep it safe and clean if the gutter is only going to be a couple years old it’s not gunna be brittle in 2 years it will be fine mate no need to buy it twice in two years just have your facias soffet gutters done a roof when your ready 👍

As St Fascia have said, its best to replace the guttering as it will inevitably leak, and anyone who says they can seal the joint is certainly telling a white lie.
It would be fine to have the fascia, soffit and guttering to be replaced before the new roof but it would be best to do it as one job, it will save you money and make for a better job when the roof is replaced.

You can replace the fascia, soffit and guttering prior to fitting a new roof I would advise to unclip the guttering when stripping the old roof to prevent all the debris blocking the gutter and pipes and just clip it back in when your new roof is complete and give the plastic a wipe clean then it will be fine.
