How to create a gravel border at the back of the house

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.51 PM

There is a small section at the back of the property where you can see soil meets the wall of the house. The previous owner has covered this with a membrane and then covered it with sand. Can we remove the sand and cover the membrane with gravel instead?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you can! The membrane is covering the soil to stop the weeds growing. You can then cover the membrane with anything you like. In your case you can sweep away the sand and replace with gravel. Hope this helps 👍

Absolutely you can if you was to use a pea gravel then you may find that the area is much more free draining than it would be with the sand.

Yes gravel will not hold the water as much and will drain alot easier. Membrane will stop the weeds coming through. It's a cheap easy job
