amount of mixture and what i need

im building a wall lenghth 72 feet height 4 and a half feet and width 4 and a half inches please can you tell me what the ratio of mixture is and how many bags of sand and cement are needed

Janet_543 4 to 1 mix = 4 parts sand, 1 part cement + plasterciser Approx 11 Bags cement - - - - - 38 Bags sand,or 1 bulk bag sand pj

I would use 5 to 1 ratio , that's roughly 1850 bricks , 2 bulk bags of sand , 14 bags of cement

It would depend on the wall you are building... So for example if it's a common garden wall then a 4 sand to one cement mix would be fine.. But if it was a wall that was retaining ground on one side 8d recommend a stronger mix.

No I didn't agree with the answer .5and 1 is the ratio .4and1 is to strong that's more for weather pointing and with out getting a calculator out a tonne bag of sand should lay a thousand bricks a decent builders merchants would tell you how much exactly Iam doing this of the top of my head hope that is helpful
