Can I have the bath changed without damaging the existing tiles?

I have standard square white tiles in my bathroom, and I actually really like them, but the suite and taps are a bit grotty and old. Can I change the bath without damaging the tiles? n

There are several aspects : All depends on how strong the existing tiles are, how much time ago it was fitted , what type of a wall is behind ( is it a plasterboard or aqua panel ) and also the quality of the adhesive was used for when tiling the bathroom,
some times its quite possible ,sometimes may not, a final answer could be given only if checked by professional.

Hello, generally the case is that at least the first row of tiles above the bath will have to be removed or up to the second. when the bath was originally installed the tiler would have come in after to butt the tiles straight on top of the bath and then sealed the two together with the use of silicone. Usually white tiles in a bathroom suite is easily matched up and can be purchased for a fair price as it is pretty much standard.

Ok depending on how the bath was fitted but to my knowledge most baths have a metal tap at the back wall screwed underneath tile so to remove this screw would be near impossible without popping a tile . normaly one each end fitted .if your lucky and the bath was just masticed / sealant bonded to the wall the bath legs could be lowered and standing it it would release the bath below the tile edge .would need sealant carefully cut on bath edge too ..do you have ant spare tiles if so it can be done both ways .?
