Fencing

Height of garden fence

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.33 PM

Our garden is 2/3 feet lower than neighbours garden. They have erected a new fence (our boundary side) which is probably 2 metres their side but in some places our side, near the bungalow, it's 9/10 feet. Can they do this?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If it was directly on your boundary line then at the least there should have been a conversation with you.

If your neighbour applied and was granted permission, Yes, they can install it. However, It would not hurt to follow up with your local planning office to make sure they are following the rules.

any fence over 6' 6'' or 2m high would require building permission , the fence should also follow an the old fence line unless the they install their side of the boundary
