Can a curtain rail track be fixed
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.33 PM
I have a rail with a pulley system and the screws have come out the curtain ring. I tried to fix back in but they just fall out again. Can this be fixed or do I need to buy a new rail? Thanks!

You can use an adhesive for threads that will stop them undoing

If the screw is screwing into plastic or aluminum you could try a slightly larger self tapping thread, or even a steel woodscrew will grip, but this will always be a short term fix. A tiny nut and bolt would do also, it depends on your skill set. If you do manage to fix it, before you put the curtains back on spray the mechanism (the runners and inside the rail) with some pledge or similar furniture polish, there is a percentage of silicone in these furniture sprays that act as a good lubricant, good for drawer runners to, good luck.

Sounds to me like it’s fixable and certainly worth looking at and trying to fix it before buying a new rail
