What do I need for gas cooker electrics
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.31 PM
Hi, I am looking to purchase a gas oven @ https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/cooking/cookers/hotpoint-hd5g00ccw-50-cm-gas-cooker-white-10192677-pdt.html. Can you advise what I need for the electrics according to regs? I currently have the following: Big red Isolator switch for oven. (Fused at main fusebox not via a fused spur plate) An electric oven terminal at back of oven. Not 13A socket. Main fusebox has an RCD. Not cooker circuit. Please advise?

You just need to change the outlet behind the cooker to a single socket just for the igniter on your gas oven. I can help with this if needs be. Is it duel, electric and gas? Any questions 07927300535

You need to have a fcu from that cooker outlet plate fused to 13 Amps and from there connection to the gas hob ignition. Best advice get an electrician local to you to sort it out.
