Hi Can you please advise what the regs are for fitting an old fashion style eye level grill cooker. What are the distances required for extractor above the grill and cupboards either side please?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

There don't seem to be any regulations just manafactures guide lines. They state the hood should be 65cm to 75cm above the hob. There is no referance to high level grills, the width is usually 150mm clear space either side of hob. Wall units can be mounted in line with hob edge. So the best answer I could give is to contact the manafacture.

Having a hood is good for extracting smells out of the kitchen when cooking, a cooker with a grill on a standard 600mm hood won’t do a lot as the grill will be blocking it. My advice is get a 900mm hood so it has more room at the sides to suck out the smell. Failing that I would get a new oven cooker with a built in grill. Electric hobs are 650mm hight and gas are 750mm high. Nothing for the grill hight. If you still want more info contact manufacturer and ask them

The recommended height above the hob is minimum 650mm for an electric hob, and 750mm minimum for a gas hob. Cooker hoods come in various widths from 600mm wide to 1000mm wide and can sit flush with wall units either side or have gaps between the wall units. Its all down to the overall appearance and style of the kitchen you want.
