Air condition hate PUMP noise- want to bypass pump.
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.31 PM
I hate the noise of my Air Condition Pump- in my bedroom and every 10 mins or so pumps up the water and loud wailing or humming sounds. Very disturbing... Can i just pull out the (light green) water pipe just before it enters pump and direct a new pipe into sink below so will drain water BYPASSING the pump? anything wrong with this idea? electrical part be ok?

That won’t stop the pump activating, it’s likely the noise will be even worse without water in the line and ultimately you’ll damage the entire system.
The only sensible option is turn off your air con or buy a better quieter system.

I’ve seen several installation where the condense water being removed by a pump. Yes, it is possible to disconnect the pump and connect the pipe directly to an existing pipe work. These pumps are operated by a float switch which means they kick off if the water level is high in the pump. That’s why the intermittent pump noise in every 10-15 minutes or so. There could be different type of pumps, installations.
