Can install a step up to UPVC door sill, in place if gravel trench?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

My rendered house has a gravel trench all a round. I'm told this is to protect the bottom of the render from rain splashing up. Where the upvc doors are, can I create a step right up to the door sill (decking, patio or sleeper step)?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes the gravil acts sock away so a 900mm or so step won't make any difference

You can install a step Aslong as the top of the step is a 150mm below your dpc level. Or don’t attach the step to the building and keep a 30mm gap between the back of the step and the house wall.
