HETAS registered engineer for wood-burning appliances and chimneys - Advice needed!
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
My boyfriend and I are looking to buy our first home and it is an old victorian end-terrace cottage (built 1890) and the house report has come back with a few areas which need review. We are just looking for some advice. One of the areas flagged on the report is around the heating and wood-burning stove: "Central heating and hot water is provided by an electric unit which is located in a cupboard in in the bathroom. This serves wall mounted radiators. The central heating pipes, where visible, are in copper. We do not know of any current test certificate for the boiler, heating system and and wood burning stove. The heating was not on when we inspected. No obvious defects were seen but we have only carried out a visual inspection of the system and therefore cannot comment in detail on its working condition. You should ask a HETAS registered engineer for wood-burning appliances and chimneys to inspect and quote" Thanks in advance, Jess :)
