Plastering Bathroom

Hi No you can use any plaster in a bathroom,when you come remove the damaged plaster if you find that the brickwork/ background is wet or damp I would let this area fully dry out before making good this area with plaster and once dry enough to paint use a moisture and mould resistant bathroom paint. Hi If there are no underlying damp issues in the walls and its just a bit of skimming plaster that has blown off then i would use easy fill by gyp roc as its easy to use and very good to sand down to a good finish but if its the backing coat that sticks to the brickwork then id use thistle bonding first before using easy fill ,once tiled and painted with a bathroom moisture and mould resistant paint it will be well sealed to combat water vapour from showers etc . regards Mark

If the plaster you have removed has brick etc behind it then leave it a few days to see if the brick etc dries out, if not source the reason why it’s still becoming wet, if it’s dry coat with a 3-1 pva adhesive and let it dry before applying any plaster based undercoat, then it should be fine...
