1kg of sand per brick
And 2.5 kg per block is the calculations I use but bricks do vary as to size of mortar bed required
And cement comes in 25 kg bags
Which will do around 125 bricks at 5:1 ratio
So 500 kg of building sand
And 4 bags of cement
And 1 concentrated plasticiser (a must)

4 bags. Tops! Bags normally come in 25kg so might even be around 8-10 bags!

Approximately 3 bags of cement at 25Kg. It's been a LONG time since they came in 50Kg bags!
Rule of thumb is 1kg of mortar for a standard brick. So you will need around 425Kg of building sand and 75Kg of cement for a 5:1 ratio.

For starters, I would never use any cement mortar stronger than 6:1.
Principal being that the mortar is weaker than the brick and any movement, the bricks don’t snap and fracture!
You need 3No. 25Kg of OP Cement

You can lay around 120 bricks per mix (give or take) using a 5:1 mix and 1 25kg bag of cement. I would recommend getting 4-5 bags of cement.
