Best place to buy a door?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.11 PM
Where do tradespeople buy doors? Good quality and price without the hyped up marketing. Context: I'm looking to replace the door to my flat inside a conversion for better sand proofing and to improve light coming in.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Usually Howdens, very convenient, good prices and well stocked. They store doors flat too. But you need a trade account or know someone who has one.
Online suppliers offer a wider range but there are some shoddy products out there. A good brand to go for is Deanta if ordering online.
You might benefit from online ordering for the bigger range if you want glazed.
Be sure to get a solid or FD30 door to improve sound resistance.

There are a million places to buy a door. Have a shop around and find yourself a door you like at a price you like.

Howarths Timber, have a good selection, good prices. You don't need a trade account and you can order online or visit a branch.
Online orders can be tricky as you are not sure what you are getting, although you will get more variety and bigger range of colours and finishes.
