Epdm roof under coping stones
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM
Hi guys, I've built a single story extension with parapet walls and I was wondering how much of the epdm roofing sheet should sit on the top course (under coping stones) would it be roughly 40mm or would it sit on the full width of the internal course? (block) Also if I was doing this method where the epdm is running up the parapet wall and under the coping stone would I still need to use flashing if the internal wall is covered by epdm? Thanks
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Ideally 100 would be better but depending on the quality of bedding the coping stone pointed up etc 40 mm should be ok. No point using a lead cover flashing

You would need to board the backside of the parapit with 18mm osb board to just under coping stone for you to get a decent bond for the epdm as trying to glue straight onto bloc would be a nightmare make sure you go 100mm ontop of bloc work

You should always provide a cavity tray under the coping stones (assuming it’s cavity). The EDPM would then lap over.
