Lining paper or a re skim

I am currently in the process of stripping all of the wallpaper in the main bedroom or my Victorian house, there are 4 layers in places (anagyplta, woodchip, patterned paper) and I have revealed the original grey coloured plaster underneath. The plasterwork isnt too bad (very few bits that has delaminated or large holes) but is no where good enough to be painted on. Would like some advice on whether I should get a decorator to re line the whole room well (no visible gaps between the paper) or get a plasterer in to get the whole lot re skimmed

I would get a decorator in the fill holes and cracks and reline the walls in will look much better in a cottage and keep the character

Good morning, I’d would rather have it all stripped back and then skim all walls .. I don’t like covering up problems I’d rather do a good job of stripping it all back making sure the walls are all solid and sound ready for skim . Do it right the first time and it will last for years to come .
