Is there a tile size/weight limit on a new build bathroom wall?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Is there a tiles size or weight limit to what a standard new build stud wall can hold without damaging the plaster/integrity of the wall? I am currently purchasing a new build home from a popular developer. I would like to change the tiles to large format tiles floor to ceiling in the bathrooms.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The maximum weight a stud wall is able to take is 32kg/m², Most tiles will be fine, but when taking off existing tiles the studs will probably have to be re boarded.

You can change the tiles in the bathrooms to any size you want, the tiles do not damage the wall
