Combi boiler not staying ignited to heat water
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM
Hi, I've a fairly old valiant combi boiler that's in the garage. Since the bad storm today it's not staying ignited to heat the water. Usually if this happens , I switch off at the mains , turn on & away we go but not this time. Central heating works fine ,all rads are hot with no cold spots. Only indication on the boiler are 3 lights , 2 of which are flashing green to indicate that the central heating is working but there isnt anything regarding water. Pressure is up & I cant see any leaks. Any advice would be appreciated as I'm a bit weary calling just anyone for fear of being ripped off. If I'm going to need a new boiler, which is best without costing the earth & who do I call, plumber or gas engineer? Thanks in advance Julie
