Random patch of water on conservatory floor

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Hi After heavy rainfall today we noticed a wet patch in the conservatory, it was mainly wet grout In between the tiles. We cannot see any drips coming through the conservatory roof. However we have had ongoing issues with the corner of the guttering not draining away and dripping onto the brick work. Could this cause a leak underneath and for water to rise? The watch patch was no where near the corner outside.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Unlikely.... sounds like a drip through your roof.

If there is no drips coming from the ceiling I would imagine that there is a hole in damp proof membrane under the concrete floor and this is where the water patch is coming from

Its not likely to be coming up through the floor unless there is a radiator pipe near by that may have a leak? During heavy storms the wind direction can change rapidly, most conservatories have ridge vents that can leak water through them if the wind blows hard enough in the wrong direction? Is the leak in the centre of the room below the top ridge?

I think it requires further investigation to determine where the fault lies with the aid of a hose they could determine if it’s the roof or not process of elimination hope my answer helps Cheers
