Archway and Composite Doors

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM

Hi there, So basically I'm looking to get an archway and composite door installed in the front of property. The archway itself will consist of 2 side panels and 1 top lite. What I want to know is if the Pvc frame will be strong enough. As I am looking to remove my internal set of door and frame to make the corridor bigger..im after normal seal and then standard frame as the floor be will leveled and tiled in the corridor. Please advise accordingly. Thanks in advance.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Perfectly normal to have composite door set into upvc frame (square or arched)

You need to ensure the side lights are seperate with a proper aluminium coupler. The top light and outerframe of the door needs to be made in one section not two seperate frames to give the most structural integrity. All outerframes need to be reinforced. Ensure each section has at least two fixings in the top and in the bottom. The opening will need to be templated with hard board to ensure accuracy. Hope this helps. NWD Norfolk Windows & Doors.

Will be absolutely fine, will probably be made as one complete frame too in an arched doorway. Frames are re-enforced also. Hope this helps
