Is it possible to install a garden tap where there no pipes?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.30 PM
Silly question but my outside tap is at the front of the house, where the kitchen is. It would be a lot more convenient to have the tap installed in the garden. I'm just conscious that there's no pipework that side of the house. So long story short, is this impossible or is it gonna cost me an arm and a leg to sort? Thanks Jamie

It is possible but the cost will dramatically increase ..you will need to pick up the nearest cold water so if that's at the rear of the property you will need to get a pipe from the back to the front

Can you install a water butt ? You can only get other water from a tap by hooking into nearest cold water pipe to back, toilet sink upstairs bathroom etc

May be possible if your bathroom or if you have tanks in loft to tee of from there and run a pipe externally to the tap

Potentially you could drop a cold feed down from the bathroom if at the back of the house as long as on mains supply or the loft.
